ATTITUDE and
COMMITMENT

VE02.jpg

We promote Education

Social needs are becoming more complex and demanding. Vulnerable groups, such as indigenous people, tend to increase.

Boys and girls who should have a common development among the population, suffer discrimination, abuse, segregation, etc.

The unavoidable question would be: how to rescue the practice and culture of social participation so that we can give back to society what we previously received?

To face them, we have to make a qualitative leap and thus  ensure that education is consolidated as an engine of change to which we all aspire.

The Commitment to quality and equitable education implies, at a basic level, focusing on the development of “communities committed to learning.”

The support of a community committed to learning are, for example, leading directors, supervisors with high academic levels and teachers who serve effectively, with pedagogical and didactic techniques, making a difference with each of their students.

At the same time, it is necessary to expand and strengthen the academic bodies of the institutions, as well as their infrastructure to support teaching and research tasks, in accordance with their profile and their comprehensive development programs.

This vision of co-responsibility in education implies that those of us who promote Social Commitment assume the following commitments:

  • Aware of our obligations, we assume the commitment to be close to the school

  • Complement and reinforce the efforts of teachers at home

  • Permanently strengthen our training as parents

  • Integrate into the school community.

We set out with the obligation to get involved through social service and professional practices to be with those who have the least and need the most. That is why:

  • We receive children through the Free Visit Program for educational establishments in the Calchaquí Valley within the Indigenous Community of Amaicha del Valle

  • Social and Institutional Responsibility Program: The Ampimpa Observatory employs permanently people from the area belonging to the Indigenous Community of Amaicha del Valle, which has the legitimate ownership of these lands

  • Promotes youth employment, with 50% of its staff under 25 years of age, and trains them to guide tourist and recreational activities

  • We provide scholarships to educators in our “International Scientific Teaching Camps”

  • We support Official Education Organizations with special programs, such as “Educational Equality: New Frontiers”

  • We hold teacher training sessions inside and outside the province of Tucumán.

  • We support external research projects, providing our facilities and equipment free of charge to other centers of higher education: Universities, Foundations, etc.

Science and research

Faced with the challenge represented by the so-called knowledge society, citizen literacy and the development of communities of dialogue as well as learning are shown to be essential tasks. In this sense, the mission of the scientific researcher involves paying greater attention to the work of dissemination and dissemination of the field of science, which are generally ignored as secondary activities. Consequently, the researcher apparently ignores that the ability to disseminate shows the degree of scientific culture that he or she possesses as an expert, while the ability to disseminate demonstrates the mastery of his or her knowledge, typical of his or her disciplinary field. Bringing together both skills would demonstrate that you are a true scientist, competent in your field, which is why it is necessary to review the meaning and orientation of these activities, in order to achieve the proposed social objective.

The expression scientific culture has had a profound impact on the field of scientific and technological education, even within the general population. This means achieving an informed community that appreciates the development of knowledge and uses it to understand and participate in the world in which we live.

We consider scientific research as a pillar of our institution and encourage its dissemination in order to train professionals committed to society through:

  • External research projects, providing our facilities and equipment free of charge to other centers of higher education: Universities, Foundations, etc.

  • We installed an Ultraviolet Radiometer on our property. The radiometer is used to measure environmental pollution, and is part of an independent CONICET project.

  • We installed a meteorological station for scientific use from the Animal Behavior Institute of the Miguel Lillo Foundation.

  • We collaborate with research projects in the area of biology, geology, archaeology, environment, etc. We provide our facilities free of charge to undergraduate and postgraduate students for the preparation of their theses.

Protection and care of the Environment

We are aware that we must work on the problems surrounding the environment, raise awareness among people, communities, companies and governments about the magnitude of the problem, its consequences and motivate them to be part of this change. In other words, this means promoting joint cooperation, developing attitudes towards environmental issues and becoming active agents of responsible and balanced development.

The future of the planet requires a common effort and we want to be part of that change, therefore, we have an active role in the development of the planet and we have our own commitment to the environment, always based on respect.

The observatory, in addition to being located in a natural and protected area, proposes, from its infrastructure to its educational programs, a scheme of protection and full environmental awareness: with a 100% green energy matrix and with its own solar energy plant. We have transformed our property into a “protected area” to preserve and care for the flora and fauna of the area. Use of drinking water as a protected and controlled resource. A site dedicated exclusively to an interactive theme park about alternative energy to educational programs and activities focused exclusively on environmental impact.

The Ampimpa Observatory is consolidated as a friendly institution with a positive impact on our planet and the environment that surrounds us.

Did you know...

...by contracting a service with our Observatory, are you collaborating with the education of the Indigenous Community of Amaicha del Valle?

And remember, the “attitude is contagious”, you decide which one you want to spread!!!
